Man-Eating Penguins!

Did that title get your attention? I learned that little trick from Eldarwen *smiles*. I think some of my friends here will know where I got that. :) Yes, I know, it's been a LONG time, or at least it has been for me. It's been really busy here. Sorry for the contest winners, but I'll get to making your awards as soon as I can (I think I already said that. :/ ). I'm reading a really good book series right now about Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Here are some pictures of the books. Blogger is teasing me right now by rearranging them so they're backwards, so look at them from the bottom up. :) -

They are so neat! Well, I need to go now. Bye to all -or none- of you!

A LOT of Things....

Okay, it looks like I have a LOT of stuff to catch up on here in the blogger world. I think this will be a really long post, so I'll break up the different categories into different sections. You can only read like one of them, or just see if you got awarded in that section. Alright, here is the first-

NaNoWriMo Update and info.-

Lately I've been busy with NaNoWriMo, but three days ago I won it! I'm SOOOOO happy that I did, and I'm definitely going to do it next year! A congrats to all the other NaNoWriMo'ers! And to those that didn't win- yay to you for trying! I wanted to let all of the winners and others know -just in case they didn't know already- that if you win you can get your very own book sent to you in printed, paperback form! And, if you're a winner, you can (if you want to) have your book on Amazon.com for sale! I thought that was so neat that I would share that with you. :) Alright, on to the next category....

Awards-

THIS section is going to be long, thanks to all of my kind blogger friends! I'll line them up in a row, and announce all the people I'm awarding on the bottom of this section.

Now, if you think you can fit into any one of these awards, you may take them! :D

Caption Contest winner!-

I'm happy to say that Izori Picked my caption for her contest as the winner! Thanks you SO much, Izori, for both picking me and following me! Yay!

New poll-

Where my other poll used to be, there is a new one about what I should post. If you have any ideas other than the choices given, please comment!

50th post contest winners!-

And the winners are........................................................................................................Lady Milisande Awnia Grim and Jillian!! Yup, there are two winners! Okay girls, you both have a choice- Olive Tree is willing to make a custom, complete blog makeover for one of you, or you can just let me know of your very favorite movie character, and I'll make you an award! It's your choice....

Awarded Again! Yipee!

Wow, this has certainly been the month for awards! I have been awarded twice! Thanks so much, friends! And here they are-
(I love this one!)
Such a pretty picture. I love this one too. :)
I'm kind of in a hurry (again) so this will be a rather short post. Here is a poem for the Collins Award that Lady Milisande's sister wrote-

Before Lizzy could get away,
Mr Collins came forth to say,
You can hardly doubt my intent,
after all the time we have spent.
My attentions have been too marked,
That they can hardly be misread.
Right as I cam into this house,
I meant to take you as my spouse,
I'll state my reasons to marry.
It would add to my happiness,
and set a model of marriage,
in my home and in my parish.
For it is the right thing for me,
and also now dear cousin see.
That is the recommendation,
from my most lovely patroness.
She said to me to take a wife,
as the companion of my life.
She said to me the girl I pick,
should be gentle and kind,
which is why I have you in mind.

I need to go right now, so I award these to any one of my followers who hasn't had one or either of these awards and wants to be awarded!

Discussions Abound

I'm soooo sorry I haven't done this for a while, but NaNoWriMo is keeping me as busy as ever. Alright, looks like this one is about our opinions on certain movies. Eldarwen has already done her post over on her blog (click her name to see it or if you have any questions). And here I go....

(Sorry the picture is so small.) The first out of the two movies I will talk about is Nim's Island. It is harmless, and I really enjoyed watching it. I will try to tell you about it, and I hope it doesn't turn out too long. :)
Nim is a girl (I think she's 11, and Nim is a nickname of mine, just to let ya know) that traveled around the world several times with her dad, Jack (she calls him by his first name, and in a second I'll explain why). Her mother died when she was very little, and her dad told her that her mother was an explorer and that once, while she was looking into the mouth of a large whale, a pirate ship called the Buccaneer scared the whale and.... I think you can guess what happened to her. Anyways, the two find a large, undiscovered island, which became their new home. By the way, just in case you haven't seen it before, I'm not telling you all that happens in the movie, so really there's more going on than I'm telling you about. Okay, back to the story- Her dad goes missing when he gets lost in the ocean on a little boat. She's scared when he doesn't come back on time, and her fears increase when she spots a mysterious ship coming closer to the island.... Well, that's all I'm going to tell you. You'll have to watch the movie to see what happens. By the way, Gerard Butler, who plays the phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, also plays two characters in this movie, and Abigale Breslin and Jody Foster are in it. And now...
The other movie I want to tell you all about is Penelope. Okay, here's the short version-
Penelope's great-great-great grandfather gets 'cursed' in a way that the next girl in the family was to be born with a face of a pig. Yes, I know, I also thought that the movie sounded really weird, but when I watched it I really liked it! Honestly! Okay, and here's how the story happened-
Penelope was born with the face of a pig (no kidding!). Before, the family had only had sons, who had all sons, etc. In the picture above that's how she really looks, except her nose is... you know...it looks like a pig's. She really doesn't look that bad. So, the 'curse' could only be broken if Penelope married a blue-blood like her. Boy, I just looked at the time and I've got to really hurry now! Long story really short (I'm leaving out a lot of the extra stuff that's probably important), she has to get married to some guy that's a blue-blood when she really wants to marry another guy. You'll just have to see the movie, because I can't really explain it all or it would take a lot longer, and I don't have the time. G'day y'all!

My 50th Post Celebration!

I have an update! My prize will be a completely personalized award with whatever theme you want! It can be from any movie, or just whatever! :) I know some of you are doing your 200th post, but for me number 50 is a reason to celebrate! This one will be a little different, though. Since everyone has different wants for their blogs and such, I'm going to let you choose what you want me to do, unless it's something super-complicated like a complete blog make-over, unless you want the really basic type. To tell you the truth, I had no idea that this was my fiftieth until I saw on my dashboard '49 posts' so I'm really not that prepared. So just in case you can't come up with anything, I'll give you a few choices if I can come up with something if you comment. :) I'll let you know now, though, that my 100th post will be much more worth-while! Now, if you comment, that counts as one time that I'll enter you, and if you do a post, I'll enter you a second time, and if you put my button on your blog, I'll enter you twice. So, the total would come to four times! Have fun!

Yet Another Award-

Wow! Three awards in one week! I feel so special. :) This time I thank Jo March for giving this lovely award to me! She is so kind. And here it is-
Now I have to write six things about myself that you don't already know. That shouldn't be too hard...I hope.

1. I love basically any animal on the planet (notice the basically part)!
2. I like the old TV series 'Get Smart'. It's hilarious!
3. I'd love to be able to have tons of animals in my house, like turtles, fish and snakes. :)
4. I like blogging (could you tell?).
5. We live on two acres of land, and we used to have two horses, three dogs, one cat and two birds. Now we have three dogs and a bird.
6. Nahla is not my real name (you probably knew that).

Now, I award Emma, Melian and Olive Tree.

Two Awesome Awards!

So much has happened since I was last on here! The most awesome being, of course, that Lady Milisande Awnia Grim and Eldarwen have awarded me! A VERY big thanks to you both! They're awesome!! I love them! Now, if you are wondering what I'm talking about, I'll show you-

and

Thanks so much! If you receive this award, send it to people that you think are Austen worthy and/or have awesome blogs! And here are the people I award for both awards-

My first choice is Jillian. I know you've already been awarded with the first award, but I know you love Jane Austen, and therefore Emma. By the way, I love your blog! I've always enjoyed visiting it so much. And thanks so much for being my friend as well. :) I love you.

Next I award MennoGirl. I love your blog and I think you like Jane Austen as well, right? I love your blog. It's so awesome. It's awesomeness itself. :)

And next comes ***Emily***. You've helped me so much. And I simply LOVE visiting your blog! I go there almost every day!! It's so neat! Keep up the good work. By the way, you make the greatest blog backgrounds! :)

Now I award Elrania! I am so happy that you are such a horse-lover. Horses are the greatest animals on earth! They are also SO pretty. I'm glad you post about them so often! Thank you also for sharing one of your blogs with me! I just love getting your comments. Plus, your blog is so wonderful to visit!

And now congrats to EchoOfMercy! You have been so wonderful here in the blogger world! And your blog looks so pretty! It makes me want to visit it again and again! :)

I am sorry if I have awarded someone who has already been awarded with one of these, but just so you know that you are so loved you have been chosen twice! Thank you all for reading this!

Sorry So Busy!

I haven't been posting much lately, but with NaNoWriMo going on, it's been pretty busy just keeping up with that. The others here in the blogger world that are doing NaNo as well can probably understand. I'm not saying that I won't be posting at all, but I probably won't be posting as much as I was last month. In December I'll be a little more free to post, so I will be poisting more then.

Character Tag

Over on Marissa's blog there's a tag. Here is how mine turned out-

List twelve fictional characters that you love from any fandom, and then answer the following questions.

Not all are in order of favorites. :)

1. Meggie (Inkheart)

2. Arwen (LOTR)

3. Cecily (Palace of Mirrors)

4. Evelyn (The Mummy)

5. Galadriel (LOTR)

6. Dustfinger (Inkheart)

7. Unan (from my NaNo story. I hope that counts!)

8. Tahra (Also from my NaNo story)

9. Merry (LOTR)

10. Amy (The 39 Clues)

11. Basta (Inkheart)

12. Pippin (LOTR)

1. Who would make a better college prof, 6 or 11?

*Laughes* Neither 6 (Dustfinger) or 11 (Basta) can read or write! I guess I put them on the wrong numbers.

2. 12 sends 8 out on a mission. What is it? Does it succeed?

8 (Tahra's) locked in a room, so the mission would probably be to get out. I don't know if it would succeed or not.

3. What is or would be 9's favorite book?

Lord of the Rings. :) It would be interesting for 9 (Merry) to read about himself and everyone he knows!

4. For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should (s)he share a studio apartment with 9 or 10?

5 (Galadriel) would probably share with 9 (Merry) since they just happen to be in the same story!

5. 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?

2 (Arwen), 7 (Unan) and 12 (Pippen)?! Wow. I guess Arwen would mostly keep to herself, Unan would try to make friends with Pippin, and they would soon be best friends. I have no idea where they'd go.

6. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?

They are both teenage girls! 3 (Cecily) would probably beat 10 (Amy), though, because Amy would be too shy.

7. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would she/he get it back?

8 (Tahra ) would just ask for it, and Meggie would probably give it back.

8. Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.

'The Palantir Outside the Prison'. :)

9. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?

They're both abducted by aliens.

10. If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?

We'd be best friends, considering I wrote her. I'd feel like Fengolio.

11. If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?

I'd ask her how it felt being a princess.

12. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw 11?

Uh, no.

13. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?

2 (Arwen) would choose 5 (Galadriel). I think.

14. What might 10 shout while charging into battle?

"Help! I don't want to fight! Dan, why's you get us into this mess?!"

15. If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?

I don't know.

16. 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?

Probably 12( Pippin)

17. What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?

I'm not coming up with any ideas.....My brain is starting to shut down for the night.

18. What would 5 most likely be arrested for?

Uh, she wouldn't let anyone arrest her.

19. What is 6's secret?

He likes Resa.

20. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?

11 (Basta) would, unless someone like Gandalf on Shadowfax helped 9 (Merry)

21. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?

7 (Unan)

1 (Meggie) and 9 (Merry) reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's (Evelyn's) sinister secret organization. 11 (Basta) volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that s/he is actually a spy for 4 (Evelyn). Meanwhile, 4 (Evelyn) has kidnapped 12 (Pippin) in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5 (Galadriel), they seek out 3 (Cecily), who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic?

Crazed.

Now I tag...

Yay!!!!!!! The computer is FIXED!! Woohoo!!!!! *Ahem*...I'm glad to be back! This post was just to say that, and I have, so....Yay! I have to say, though, I'm going to be pretty busy with NaNoWriMo. I did some math, and I figured out that, in order to just barely squeeze by with my word count goal, I'm gonna have to write 1,000 words a day for the rest of the month of November! AAHH!

Eldarwen- In answer to your sweet comment- Yes, three-columns for my blog is very handy! So, I'll be going now to write up a storm.

My Other New Blog...

Yes, I know, ANOTHER blog. But this one's only about LOTR. And, there's something else....The first, second, and third person to comment will share the posting privilege with me! However, there's already been two comments, so only one more will be able to post on that blog. Oh, and it's called LOTR Talk. HERE is how you get to it. It was originally another blog that I never used, so the address doesn't match. Even if you are too late to become an author of it, you can still follow it all you want!

Discussions Abound

Alright, here's my first post on Discussions Abound. First I must let you know that Eldarwen Failariel created a discussion group including Jillian, Myself, Eldarwen, Miss Morgan, Ashley, Emily and Rachel B. By the way, you can 'sign up' any time by clicking Eldarwen's name above and asking her to. This week's discussion is about movies. :) The one I'm gonna talk about is Inkheart.
Inkheart is based on the book 'Inkheart' by Cornelia Funke. It's about a small family (the dad Mo, the mother Resa, and their little girl, Meggie). I'm not going to tell you too much so I won't spoil it. Here's the interesting part about the story- There are certain people in the world called Silvertongues. Why are they called that? Because they can read characters out of books with their voice. So what's bad about that? The only way to read someone out is to read someone into it. That's what happened to unsuspecting Mo Folchart. While reading an unpopular book, Inkheart (who would've guessed), he reads two villains and a minstrel named Dustfinger out, and his wife in. The story is about him and his daughter, Meggie, trying to get her back. I've probably revealed too much as it is, but oh well. Next Saturday, I will post the next discussion along with the others that have joined.

Since there's been a LOT of tags going around, I'm writing this post. Aaaand...Guess what! It's not a tag! Not that I don't like tags, there's just been a LOT of tags going around, as I said before. So, this post was created for the purpose of taking a break from tags, but only for a while. So, while I have an extra post on my hands, I'll ask you a question. What should my next post include? (You can just pick the number and comment.)

1. More pictures, for goodness sake!

2. Just keep up what you've been doing.

3. Try a video!

4. I don't know.
